The Ballet Flats comeback
Even though the ballet flats are a classic & they have always been there, we can’t deny that their popularity has increased recently. Whenever I hear the word ballerina shoes a picture of a French lady walking down the streets of Paris wearing a pair of the Chanel leather ballet flats. Other brands like Miu Miu, Tory Burch & more have also kept this style alive by keeping it in their collections. I personally love ballet flats, I think each lady should have at least one pair. They can be worn to many places & throughout the day as they do give a very chic & sophisticated look if added to any outfit.
Each brand introduced their flats differently, they got creative making flats more for summer or winter based on the materials they used & more edgy more fun. The most iconic ballet flats were the Valentino ones, absolutely gorgeous, just like the Miu Miu satin flats & the famous Chanel textured & metallic flats.
Some examples:
mallic ballet flats: Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Jacquemus
Tabi ballet flats: Martin Margiela, they started with the Tabi boots & they brought it to the ballet flats as well.
fun fact: a split-toe socks used to be worn by Japanese elites for balance/stabilty & then the socks were transferred to shoes instead of socks.
satin ballet flats: Miu Miu, The Row, Zara
mesh ballet flats: Bottega Veneta, Alaïa, Dear Frances
suede & velvet ballet flats: Cayumas, Gabriela Hearst, Veronica Beard
embellished ballet flats: Gianvito Rossi, Khaite, Magda Butrym

When I was shopping in Hudsons Bay on Yonge St. I found so many options in styles & in prices & those are some pictures of what I found :)
